- worship. transform. serve.

All of us at some point in our lives have felt hopeless. Maybe it was in your marriage, your job situation or with your children. Webster defines “hopeless” as “[being] incapable of redemption or improvement.” I love that he uses the word redemption because it immediately brings my mind to spiritual redemption. Aren’t you glad that there is a Redeemer?! When we accept what Christ has done for us on the cross, no matter the circumstance, we are never ever without hope.

Hope For Lubbock - November 20

This is the message we will convey to many this Thanksgiving season during the event “Hope for Lubbock.” On November 20th at 5 p.m. First Baptist Church, along with Full Armor Church, Community Heights and the Texas Tech Football team, will seek to feed over 800 people who need hope. We are targeting families with financial need and those without shelter. After feeding our guests, we will move to the sanctuary where our worship ministry will present the gospel through song and testimony. When the night is over we will send our special guests home with a Thanksgiving basket or care package. I believe with much prayer and preparation, we will see a beautiful outpouring of God’s love.

Ways You Can Help

In order to make something this big happen, we need your help. There are several ways you can participate.
  • Sponsor a Thanksgiving basket for 25 dollars
  • Help assemble and distribute baskets and care packages
  • Greet and guide our guests
  • Go get families who do not have transportation
  • Serve food
  • Sit and eat with our guests
  • Sing in the choir
  • PRAY
Please mark this great day on your calendars. This event can be monumental in the life of our church and in the lives of many. Contact Laney Wootten or Jerry Ramirez if you are interested in participating. May the Lord, through us, show Lubbock that He is HOPE!
