MINISTER
It is the family's responsibility to contact any member of the staff that you wish to participate in your wedding. They should be asked well in advance. Remember these people are professionals. You are asking them for 2 evenings: rehearsal and wedding, therefore, you should be sure that they receive a proper honorarium.

Members of First Baptist Church and all others who desire to use the church for weddings may request the pastor of the church to perform the marriage ceremony. In the absence of the pastor or in case the pastor has a conflicting date which prevents his participation in your wedding, another member of the church staff is available and qualified to perform the wedding ceremony.

If you plan to use a guest minister, a written approval of FBC's pastor is required.

Pre-marital counseling is a vital factor in preparation for the ceremony. The bride and groom should arrange for counseling with the pastor about 3 months in advance of the wedding.
FLORIST
For the protection of our building and properties, we must insist on certain policies. Your florist must agree to abide by them. Parents of the bride are responsible for any damages to the carpet, furniture, or building. It is your responsibility to let the florist know the policies of the church and see that he/she abides by them. The church reserves the right to restrict privileges of any florist who violates these regulations.

Please confer with the wedding consultant to schedule a time to decorate for the wedding.

No nails, tacks, tape, or any material that may scar the furniture can be used to secure decorations. Wherever candles are used, proper protection must be provided for all carpet and property. Candles must be of the dripless variety and be snuffed out, not blown, to prevent splattering of wax.

The church custodial staff will be in charge of removing and replacing pulpit furniture for decorating (a special set up will be an extra charge). The maintenance staff will move the pulpit furniture, the altar table, and the steps.

Due to lack of storage facilities, immediate removal of all floral decorations and arrangements is required.
MUSIC
Our Minister of Music can offer helpful suggestions in the selections of your wedding music. Since a church wedding is a religious experience, all music must be in good taste and in keeping with Christian ideals. For this reason we encourage you to discuss desired selections with our Minister of Music or his assistant.

Our church organist and pianist are available to play for the rehearsal and the wedding as their schedules permit. These arrangements should be made with him/her personally in regard to schedule and music. The bride should feel the freedom to use anyone of her choosing as organist or pianist. Our FBC music office and our wedding consultant will be happy to supply names of available instrumentalists for the bride's consideration. A guest organist must be checked out on our instrument prior to the ceremony.

Arrangements should be made by the bride for the soloist. It is the responsibility of the bride to see that the soloist contacts the organist or sound technician.

The fee of the soloist and instrumentalist should be arranged in advance. Such arrangements are private and are not the church's responsibility.

A qualified sound technician must be present for the wedding. He will also be able to handle any lighting arrangements. He will arrive approximately one hour before the wedding. The FBC wedding consultant will make this arrangement and his fee will be paid by the church.
PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER
Only professional photography will be allowed during the ceremony. There will be no flash photography during the ceremony except by the photographer during the processional and recessional. It is the bride's responsibility to see that the photographer, relatives, and friends are informed of this policy. No restrictions are placed on photographs in the foyer.
